This coming Monday thousands of people of all ages will be taking to the streets in our capital cities and across the world to demand immediate action on climate change. These protests will be highly creative in nature with songs, performance and art to get the message peacefully across to the world.
Why you ask?
Since the first record of the melting ice caps in the 60’s when indigenous leaders brought it to our world leaders attention, the action taken to support our ecosystem has been minimal. The temperature continues to rise, species die and our earth becomes more and more polluted by the take take take of the greedy and ignorant. Last year’s IPCC report referenced in this article in the Independant newspaper has been a stark kick in the guts for many conscious people.

“We are unprepared for the danger our future holds. We face floods, wildfires, extreme weather, crop failure, mass migration and the breakdown of society. The time for denial is over. It is time to act.
Conventional approaches of voting, lobbying, petitions and protest have failed because powerful political and economic interests prevent change. Our strategy is therefore one of non-violent, disruptive civil disobedience – a rebellion.
Historical evidence shows that we need the involvement of 3.5% of the population to succeed – in the UK that’s about 2 million people. “
