Poetry inspired by walks

Oaks on the Dart by Sue

Solid, unmovable guardians

Overhang movement

of water & mud

Peaceful, quiet, ageless

Interruptions invade

new & old

Dog explores echo

Reverberations ripple

Sky to floor

Spaces between

Red shale eroding

Death & decay below

Wind lifts and wanders

Leaves respond & rustle

Water flows on

A never-ending journey

This beautiful piece of Art and poetry was created by Simon on a recent forest therapy and foraging Day.

NORTH WOODS ARE GOOD

The other day Emma Capper and me John,
Visited the North Woods close by to Dartington.
Where we met our crew, Forest Bathing so to do!
I am afraid I cannot remember them all,
But Kate, Sarah, Arran and Lee,
Also accompanied Simon and me,
The object of the bathing is to attune and enjoy,
I do believe that there is a lot to trees!
Such as wisdom acquired by longevity.
The mechanism is subtle energy!
Flowing from the earth to the canopy
Emma’s techniques helped us attune to the woods as an entity,
So successfully that the biscuit and Douglas fir tea, from North Woods,
At the finale, tasted earthy and heavenly to me!
My wander for wellbeing I found to be,
Invigorating, fun and excellent Therapy!!

A Forest Bathe with New Friends

Space amidst the swirling,
Sun between the shade,
New shoots among the dry leaf,
In our dappled glade.

Birdsong with the stillness,
Dancing then a pause.
Hearts filled and replenished,
Celebrating menopause.
