“Logic will get you from A to Z; imagination will get you everywhere.” – Albert Einstein
Being in nature brings out my inner child and the simple delight of watching a leaf or seed come twirling down can inspire a whole load of playful invitations and creative inspiration. I think of all the artists and writers who, throughout time reference Nature as their inspiration.
Letting ourselves take time to stop and notice and experience these moments lifts us out of our overcrowded minds. Life becomes simple again and there is space for new ideas and time to play with them.
On a creative journey I offer you the space and support to let go all you think you should be and welcome the love for all you are, as a creative being of this earth.
Through a series of guided sensory immersion invitations I invite you into an effortless state of being that awakens your curiosity and soothes your mind. Supported and inspired by the natural world we let the muse take us to create ephemeral art, poetry and prose.
Art of Being

“A painter told me that nobody could draw a tree without in some sort becoming a tree; or draw a child by studying the outlines of its form merely but by watching for a time his motions and plays, the painter enters into his nature and can then draw him at every attitude…”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
Art of Being workshops & Retreats offer the opportunity to deeply connect to a landscape and playfully create in response to what we sense.

“It was on one of your Creative Journeys, in the dawn sunrise on the hilltop on the edge of Dartmoor, where I recall the moment of witnessing my wish to share voice in the world. “Play keeps us vital and alive. It gives us an enthusiasm for life that is irreplaceable. Without it, life just doesn’t taste good.”
– Lucia Capocchione

As an artist I have always found time in the natural world to be my chief muse and refuge. I’ve consciously chosen places to live where I have easy access to a wood or green space as I have learnt how miserable and lost I can become without my daily dose from mother Nature.
My Creative journeys in Nature came about when I started to take my expressive arts groups outside. The journeys were inspired by a friend, who once commented on how much more she saw when she went for a walk with me and suggested I take other folk for walks. So I married the two and have loved every minute of it.
As much as I have admired realistic drawings and paintings of the natural world I have never felt a passion to try it. I have always been drawn to the expressive arts, which capture the emotional and spiritual response of the artist. A deep feeling of becoming the landscape through absorbing it all through my senses, expressing how it makes me feel, capturing the inner landscape inspired by being in relation to the outer one. Sometimes in ink and line, at others in short prose, and often in the joy of placing small natural forms next to each other to create images that told me a story about how I felt. I have found that these storylines and assemblages hold great symbolic power and metaphor. And when we take time to listen to them and perhaps share them; transformation and enlightenment occurs, almost effortlessly.
